The Benefits Of Carbon

I dont claim to know all there is to know about carbon and longbows, but I do know that in certain designs it seems to absorb or minimize shock and increase arrow velocity. As time permits, I will test two identical bows, excepting one being of carbon and one standard glass, and post the results on this site. Informal testing is putting a carbon 'backed' bow ahead by approximately 6 fps. My first tests of a double carbon will be coming soon.

The Standard Sapphire Hawk Longbow is built with Your Choice of riser wood and 2 accent species. Riser woods in stock are Cocobolo, Bocote, Ipe, Bubinga and Goncalo Alves (more to come).  Accents include those choices, plus Maple, Purple Heart, Walnut and Padauk, and Hickory.

Limbs are Black or Clear glass. Black glass limbs are over a combination of Red Elm, Action Boo, African Mahogany, Hickory, Ipe, or Walnut. Standard Clear Glass Limb cores are Walnut, Juniper, or Red Elm. If you have any other suggestions, just ask.

Limb bolt overlays to match the riser and FF compatible tips are standard.

Custom inlays and accent designs are available upon request. If you have an idea, run it by me and I'll let you know if its feasible. The above bow has a bone arrowhead inlaid into the riser.
